KCMS currently has several opportunities for physicians to share their medical skills and support worthy programs serving people of limited means:

 

Kids on Campus

Help kids in Kansas City, Kan. envision their futures in college and a career!

Physicians are needed to conduct pre-camp and sports physicals for youth preparing to participate in the June 10 – July 19 Kids on Campus program. This six-week summer day camp introduces youth to education and careers in health professions, STEM and business. Private exam areas and equipment will be provided for the pre-camp physicals. Dates and location where physicians are needed:

-Wednesday, June 5, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

-Thursday, June 6, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

-Kansas City, Kan. Community College | 7250 State Ave. | Kansas City, Kan.

Metro Care and Wy Jo Care

Give needed specialty services to patients who could not otherwise afford them.

 

Specialty physicians can save lives, jobs and families by donating care through the KCMS Foundation’s Metro Care and Wy Jo Care programs. Providing care for just one uninsured person per year can make a huge difference. For more than a decade, these transformative programs have helped low-income, uninsured people access specialty care by bringing area hospitals, practices and physicians together. Join the team!

JayDoc Free Clinic

Support medical students gaining experience in a community clinic for the underserved.

 

Volunteer physicians are needed to serve as preceptors providing review and oversight at the JayDoc Free Clinic which is led and staffed University of Kansas medical students. JayDoc Free Clinic provides non-emergency urgent and preventive care to the uninsured and underinsured. Open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the clinic primarily treats acute situations such as infections and rashes. Patients are referred to other safety net clinics to establish an ongoing medical home. Dates and location where physicians are needed:
