|Angela Bedell, MA, CAE, Executive Director
As executive director of the Kansas City Medical Society since 2013, Angela has initiated programs that have increased membership to over 3,300. She also has overseen the merger of the former Kansas City Medical Society serving Missouri with the former Wyandotte-Johnson County Medical Society. She holds a master’s degree from Webster University and her undergraduate degree is from Missouri Western University. She is certified by the American Society of Association Executives.
|Emily Whalen, Director of Membership & Events
A staff member since 2018, Emily services the needs of KCMS members and coordinates logistics for KCMS events throughout the year. She also supports the office operations and board meetings of the Medical Society. She has a background in sales and marketing and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska.
|Karole Bradford, Foundation Chief Program Officer
Joining the Foundation in December 2018, Karole oversees the staff and operations of the Foundation. Bringing 19 years of nonprofit leadership experience, she most recently was executive director of Riverview Health Services, a Kansas City, Kan., agency that helps uninsured children and adults access prescription medications. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University.
|Amina Barnes, Foundation Business Manager
Amina provides management, administrative, project and event coordination functions for the Kansas City Medical Society Foundation. She joined the Foundation in 2019 and has seven years of administrative and grants management experience in the nonprofit world. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Baker University and a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Kansas.
|Stephanie Lopata, Foundation Referral Manager
As a staff member of the former Wy Jo Care since 2008, Stephanie brings to the Foundation much institutional knowledge of the referral process and relationships with Kansas safety net clinics. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
|Natalie Lynch, Foundation Provider Relations Director
A Foundation staff member since 2018, Natalie handles recruitment and retention of volunteer physicians and other providers that donate care for Wy Jo Care and Metro Care patients. She also works with Stephanie on relationships with safety net clinics that refer patients. She brings 18 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales and provider relations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Drury University.
|Maria Valencia, Foundation Referral Coordinator
Maria supports the Referral Manager in handling referrals and arranging for donated care. Joining the Foundation in 2019, she has 15 years of experience in case management and billing administration. Fluent in Spanish, she is an asset in serving the Foundation’s Latino patients. She holds a bachelor’s degree from MidAmerican Nazarene University.
|Laura Yount, Foundation Outreach Specialist
Laura supports the Provider Relations Director in building and maintaining relationships with physicians and other providers. She joined the Foundation in 2019 and has eight years of experience in pharmaceutical sales. She holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in education from the University of Kansas.
