Good News for the KC Medical Society Foundation and its Supporters

New potential donors to the Kansas City Medical Society Foundation can now be assured that our Foundation meets quality standards for governance, finances and transparency.

The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation has granted the KCMS Foundation the “Reviewed” designation which is displayed on our foundation’s profile on the Community Foundation’s website. This designation was made after submission of program, financial and governance information to the Community Foundation. Read our profile.

In addition, through the Community Foundation’s partnership with the national nonprofit information website Guidestar.org, our profile is visible to a national audience. Guidestar designates the KCMS Foundation with its “Silver Seal of Transparency.” Read our Guidestar profile.

The Community Foundation and Guidestar websites are frequently used by individuals, corporations and foundations looking for information on charities they may want to support. Having these designations from the Community Foundation and Guidestar assures prospective donors that the KCMS Foundation meets industry standards for quality of management and funds stewardship.

These designations are important for the KCMS Foundation as we seek additional support from the community to further our mission of arranging volunteer specialty care for the uninsured in greater Kansas City.
